Your past has led you to where you are today but it is NOT and anchor
Hi, I’m Katie Conley, the founder of Creative Connections Family Counseling, PLLC, and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have a passion for helping people heal, reconnect, and grow. I’ve always believed that love alone isn’t always enough—healthy relationships also need understanding, communication, and safety. I work with adults, couples, and families to navigate the deeper issues that keep them feeling stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed.
My approach is warm, empathetic, and direct. My goal is to help you feel safe enough to talk about the hard things and help you recognize patterns that aren’t serving you anymore. You are the expert in your life and relationships, and I prioritize collaboration in helping you achieve the goals you set for yourself.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have a passion for professional development and research, ensuring I stay up to date on evidence based practices. I’m trained in EMDR, and in Gottman Method Levels 1 & 2, including their specialized models for treating trauma, affairs, and addictions in couples. I solely use evidence based practices such as CBT, narrative therapy, and solution focused modalities. With younger clients I prefer to use techniques from Art and Play therapies.
I’m also a military spouse of nine years, which gives me a personal understanding of the stress, resilience, and transitions that come with military life, especially when children are involved.
When I’m not working or with my child you can always find me with a new book or hobby, coffee in hand.
I’m here to help you communicate more clearly, heal what’s still hurting, and rediscover the connection you’ve been missing—with yourself and with the people who matter most.
Katie’s Services
For Adults Ready to Heal, Grow, and Move Forward
Life can feel overwhelming—and sometimes, even the strongest people need support. When you’ve tried everything you can and you’re still stuck, I can help. Using evidence based therapy models I can help you uncover harmful patterns, build emotional resilience, and take meaningful steps toward the life and relationships you want. Whether you’re drowning in work stress, trying to recover from decades of trauma, or struggling setting boundaries, I’ve got you.
Individual Counseling
Rebuild Trust. Strengthen Communication. Rekindle Connection.
Whether you're stuck in the same argument, reeling from betrayal, or feeling more like roommates than partners, you're not alone—and you're not beyond repair. It’s usually not that we don’t love each other. It’s that we don’t know how to love each other anymore. I help couples grow back together after affairs, childbirth, and substance use. Together, we’ll work toward healing, understanding, and a relationship that feels like home again.
Couples Counseling
Helping Kids and Teens Feel Seen, Heard, and Supported
Children and teens often communicate through behavior rather than words. If you’re trying everything to help and nothing is working, you’ve come to the right place. Using age-appropriate techniques like play therapy, video games, and solution-focused strategies, I help young clients process big emotions, build coping skills, and strengthen their relationships at home and school. I work closely with caregivers to ensure your child feels safe, empowered, and understood every step of the way.
Children & Adolescents
Because Healing Works Better Together
Families are systems—and when one part is hurting, the whole feels it. In family therapy, I help you move past blame and into better communication, cooperation, and connection. Whether you're navigating parenting challenges, conflict in adult families, or adjusting to a major life change, we’ll work together to create healthier patterns and a stronger family bond.
Family Therapy
Sometimes Talk Isn’t Enough
I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps people heal from trauma, anxiety, and other distressing life experiences. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (like guided eye movements or tapping) to help the brain reprocess painful memories so they no longer feel as overwhelming or “stuck.”
If you’ve experienced something that still feels heavy—whether it’s a big trauma or smaller moments that left a lasting impact—EMDR can help you find relief, gain clarity, and move forward with more peace and resilience.
Trauma
When 60 Minutes Isn’t Enough
When we’re living in pain it can be hard to only receive one 60 minute session a week. That’s why I offer intensives for couples therapy and EMDR clients, sessions that range from 90 minutes to a few hours. This allows us to really focus on your goals and achieve accelerated change. This service can be dependent on your insurance plan if you are planning on using insurance benefits.
Intensives
I offer telehealth sessions for clients throughout Texas and South Carolina, and in person sessions for clients in South Carolina. I believe that flexibility is a necessity and offer both daytime and evening sessions.
If you are interested in working with me please book a free 15 minute consultation on my calendar. If you don’t see any available appointments or would like more info, please fill out my contact form.
I am looking forward to meeting you!
